From 1st July 2026, the EU has introduced a new €3 customs duty on parcels imported from outside the EU. This was designed to create fairer competition for EU businesses.

As a result, all books posted by The Broken Binding to the EU will be affected by this tariff and there will be an unavoidable increase in shipping costs. As a UK business we must abide by the new rules and we have to apply this tariff.

If you are a customer that lives in the EU  and you ordered a book after 1st July 2026 then you do not need to make any changes to your orders. We have now added the tariff to our systems and you will be automatically charged €3 on all future orders.
