Damaged Stock Policy

We understand that receiving a damaged book is disappointing, and we’re committed to resolving any issues as quickly as possible. We carefully inspect each book before packaging and shipping to ensure it meets our quality standards. However, we recognize that mistakes and incidents can occur during transit.

If you receive an incorrect item or your book is damaged during shipping, we will replace it with a new one when possible. Please note that replacement for exclusive, special edition, or subscription books may be more difficult due to their limited nature, and in these cases, an exact replacement may not be available.

For international orders, we strongly recommend adding our eco-friendly bubble wrap option during checkout. It provides extra protection during shipping, helping to ensure your book arrives in excellent condition.

 

Claim Submission

Any damage claims must be submitted within 14 days of delivery, along with evidence (such as photos) showing the damage. We will review each case individually, but below are our general guidelines.

Qualifying Damage

The following types of damage do qualify for a replacement or refund:

  • More than 1cm of damage to the book’s cover (tears, rips, cuts, scratches, etc.)
  • Excessive crushed corners or edges (this must be severe and noticeable, affecting the book’s structure)
  • Ripped or bent pages that affect the readability or content of the book
  • Permanent stains, discolouration, residue, or marks that cannot be removed
  • Incorrectly signed/unsigned items or bookplates that do not match what was advertised
  • Production defects, such as missing pages or printing errors
  • Incorrectly folded dust jackets
  • Severe blur on stencilled edges
  • Water damage


Non-Qualifying Damage

The following types of damage do not qualify for a replacement or refund:

  • Light scratches, marks, or removable residue
  • Minor creasing, wrinkles, or dents to the book or dust jacket (including corners)
  • General shelf wear or slight wear from handling
  • Loose dust jackets (as long as the book itself is not damaged)
  • Unevenly sprayed or blemished edges or small marks that do not affect the content
  • Slight blur on stencilled edges
  • Wavy pages not caused by water or significant damage

Returns Process

If your item qualifies for a return or replacement, we will offer a full refund if a replacement is unavailable. Refunds will be processed to the original payment method. Please note that shipping costs are non-refundable.
